Once I walked alone in desperation,
knowing not my way back home.
And my heart could find no consolation,
in the troubled path I'd roam.
Then I found myself an old time altar,
where I knelt to pray one night.
When I felt the tears come rolling down my face,
that's when I felt the Lord inside.
With the Spirit of the Lord inside,
there's a greater love in me.
When I asked Him to come in my life,
what a difference I could see.
And I know that its a real salvation,
for no other it could be.
With the Spirit of the Lord inside,

Since that day my life has changed completely,
there a gladness in my heart.
I'm a member of God's loving family,
with a message to impart.
